More temples. I hesitate to say this, but they are all beginning to look the same. Temperature unseasonably hot: about 38C

We stopped at a roadside stall where they were boiling palm sugar The sugar is boiled for 10hr

to make something that tastes exactly like Scottish tablet (a sort of hard fudge). The sweets were then beautifully wrapped in dried palm leaves Beautifully wrapped palm sugar sweets

The lady selling them was missing a few teeth: probably connected with her trade.

Lunch in a roadside restaurant. Amok Tey: fish in coconut milk served in a whole coconut. Baby on nearby veranda was being rocked in a hammock by grandmother, grandfather and various other family members in turn.

Today's Temples:

Banteay Srey. A demonstration by the head priest of how well he could build a temple. Good carvings, red sandstone that has lasted well.

2 Banteay prei. Good elephant carvings
3 Another whose name I can't remember but is like Bateay Prei, only taller
4 Neak Pean. On an island. The setting represents a story when the Buddha, before he was enlightened, changed into a horse to rescue people shipwrecked on an island
5 Preah Kahn. Overgrown with trees. Built by King to honour his father and hold magic sword.

All templed out now. Off to hail a tuk tuk to take us for a futher night's entertainment in downtown Siem Reap
