Day 137:  We arrived into London and our hostel at around 3pm and had to wait for an hour until we could check in.  The London weather was showing us what it was like when we arrived with dark skies and rain, something we really haven't seen too much of in all our travels.  After checking in it was a little bit too dark and cold to do anything touristy so we just went for a walk around our hostel area, grabbed some dinner and not too much after that.  Will begin our sight seeing in the morning.

Day 138: Today we walked from our hostel into the centre of the city, we went through Hyde Park and on to Buckingham Palace, waited until 11.30am to see the changing of the guard then realised that that it wasn't on today so would have to come back another day.  We then continued on through the parks where Emma took a photo of every squirrel that ran past and was chasing after them to get the best picture.  We then got to Parliament house, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, took heaps of photos but thought the 16 entry fee into the Abbey was a bit steep so we didn't worry about it.

We then went across the river and went on the London Eye, we thought we better go on this today as there was a break in the rain and the sun was out for a while and we got a really good view of London from the top.

After this we got on the tube and went to see Madame Tussaud's, this was really enjoyable and we got see plenty of famous people, although it was a little smaller then I was expecting we still had fun.  Emma got her photo with a lot of different people, even ones she had no idea who they were.  Headed back to the hostel after this.

Day 139:  We spent most of today at the British Museum, we started early and didn't end up leaving until the late afternoon.  We saw most of the exhibitions but we were a little tired of seeing all the Greek and Roman artifacts but the Egyptian stuff was pretty cool, I'm just hoping we didn't see too much before we get to Egypt.  By the end of the day we were pretty tired and our legs were really sore, so after our visit we went back to the hostel to rest up.

Day 140:  Today we went to the Tower of London, I really enjoyed it last time I was here so I knew Emma would enjoy it.  We tagged along with one of the Beefeater tours, I think these guys do a really amazing job of the tour and make it that much more enjoyable, they are really knowledgeable and told us much about the history of the Tower, particularly the gruesome stuff.  We also saw the crown jewels (can't take photos), they had a museum in the centre tower about medieval Britain and then just walked around the outside walls.

Afterwards we walked across Tower Bridge and headed to the London Dungeon, we really enjoyed the Amsterdam one so we really wanted to do another one and were just looking forward to doing another one.  This one wasn't quite as good as the one in Amsterdam (might have been due to the big group of school girls who were with us that screamed at every little thing) but we still had a good time, the acting was good and the scenarios shown were similar to the other one.

For the rest of the afternoon we just walked around Piccadilly area and had some dinner.

Day 141:  We got up a little late today but it worked out fine because we were able to get to the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace in time, (should have been earlier though since the place was packed and we couldn't see much) we stayed for little bit then left and went to the Science Museum.  We spent about 3 hours here going through all the floors, really liked the space section and the alchemy section, there wasn't as many hands on things as I remember but still filled in the afternoon.  We then went over to the Natural History Museum which I think is much better and Emma agreed, we should have done this one first but we were still able to quickly go through the whole Museum before it closed.  I liked the Geology and Human Body sections probably cause I know a little more about them, plus they have more hands on things to play with.

That night we went into the city to look around and stumbled into M&M World which is amazing if you love M&Ms, they have 4 floors of chocolate and merchandise that kept us entertained for a good hour.  We ended up buying some M&Ms but there was so much more we could have bought.

Day 142: On the last day in London we went to St Paul's Cathedral and even though this one also cost 15 we thought it was a little more worth it and we had to do at least one of the churches.  The cathedral was impressive but wasn't the best we have seen in Europe, with the entry price though we got access to the whole church including the Whispering Room where you hear people from the other side of the room by talking on the walls (worked a little), we were also able to climb to the top which had some really good views and also access into the crypt.  Thought it was a little bit wrong to have a restaurant and gift shop underneath the church next to the crypt.  We finished off the day by doing some shopping along Oxford Street.
