Day 6: Today was pretty much a day of travelling, we took early ferry back to Singapore, taxi to the airport, shop around the airport for the cheapest flight to Kuala Lumpur then a taxi to our hotel. By the end of the day, we had enough energy to get dinner at a nearby restaurant, (which had pretty good cakes) then off to bed.

Day 7: First up today we headed off to Batu caves (a must for most tourists to KL). The caves are infact a series of temples built inside the limestone caves which has perfectly carved out areas for the many religious structures, the biggest and most spectacular is the ~30m high gold plated statue of a Buddha at the entrance. Behind the statue is a set of ~240 steep steps to the caves themselves, the best part about the climb to the top is the presence of numerous monkey's running around (lucky none stole our belongings). Inside the caves there were more statues of Buddhas and more shrines, erosion inside the caves had created openings which allowed sunlight to enter. On the way out we went on a tour into the conservation caves (they were used to store food in the past), the tour took us inside the enclosed cave and the guide told us how they are conserving the natural habitat of the animals inside (bats, millipedes, spiders and snakes) and the role they play in the ecosystem.

In the afternoon we walked around Little India and looked at all the different food stalls and clothes shops (bit boring for me but the girls liked it), we found an electronic store (5 floors of laptops, phones, etc) which was more exciting, we bought a widget which makes accessing the internet easier.

Day 8: Today was all about shopping, we went to Chinatown and took full advantage of knock off imitation brands, I myself didn't buy much but the other three went all out for themselves and presents for others, Jessica and Selwyn were able to buy up big since they were leaving the next day and Emma bought plenty of presents to send back (plus some for herself). All up it was a good if not long day and if it was mine and Emma's last day I'm sure we could have bought plenty more, but alas we do have to save money for the rest of our trip :(

Day 9: Today we said goodbye to Jessica and Selwyn as they headed back to Australia and we continued to head north towards Thailand. Next stop Georgetown - home to the best food in Malaysia (or so I have been told)
