Glenelg was a really great area and I considered job searching there as well. the tram connects it to Adelaide in 40 minutes and it's right on the beach. The hostels was set in a beautiful old building and had free wifi which was quite convenient as my main activity there was spent web searching
I booked in another night at the hostel, and got the last bed in the entire place! I spent alot of my time there online, looking for train and flight prices. My idea was that with the money I had just made I would make one last attempt at starting somewhere new, and fly to either Cairns, Perth or Tasmania. I kept checking and rechecking prices and almost booked a few times, but for some reason I didn't. I felt like I was waiting for something to happen. On my third night I booked in for a fourth after I knew I wasn't getting on a plane and then something really kind of amazing happened. I got to talking to a friend in Tanunda about what happened and what I was going to do. She messaged me telling me that a family in Tanunda was still looking for an Au Pair and I should come back (She works as an Au Pair there as well). I messaged her back asking her to call me and then went to shower. By the time I had showered I messaged her back and gave her my number and asked her to contact me ASAP. I went out for lunch and while I was eating my McOz burger (beetroot on a burger!!) Roseanne called and said she had gotten my number from Carolin, and would I be interested in coming to meet the family! I had a little think, and called her back saying I would love to, and we made arrangements for me to get a ride with her husband that night , and as I sat outisde with a view of the beach eating a McDonalds burger with a beet on it, I had a neat little moment
So I packed up, made a few hours use of my nightly booking and slept from about 10 until 12:30. Andy works at the Adelaide airport and at 1 am drives back into the Barossa, so at 1am I caught a ride and we drove the hour or so back into Tanunda! Something that 24 hours previously I would have NEVER guessed would have been the path I would have taken. But such is this entire journey, most of the paths I have taken could not have been known beforehand... and after dealing with one of the most horrible people I have ever met- the universe made sure I was going to be taken care of by a beautiful kind loving family. :D
