After about an hour drive I arrived to the active volcano of Cerro Negro. It was really an interesting place. It was easy to see the destruction the eruption caused when the volcanic rock meets the bright green grass. After a 30 minute climb to the top, I grabbed my surfboard (really just a peace of wood with a rope to hold on to) and surfed all the way down. Sounds a lot more exciting that it really was since the boards were so simple, I sat down while surfing, and top speed may have been 3 MPH. It was still a fun time and a unique adventure with some excellent scenery.
