A few days in the hectic city of Ho Chi Minh was enough so we decided to take the 8:15 AM bus to Mui Ne Beach (near Phan Thiet). A good deal at US$4.50/ea for a 4.5 hour bus ride. The ride was uneventful and I was happy that it would drop us off right in front of our hotel; Victoria Beach Resort; http://victoriahotels-asia.com/eng/hotels-in-vietnam/phan-th iet-beach-resort-spa. One funny thing that happened was when we returned to our hotel after housekeeping cleaned the room. On a table in our room was a "thank you" note from housekeeping. I didnt leave any money for her, so I was wondering what (and how much) she took. Than I realized that I left 1000 Cambodian currency on the table which is the equivalent of $0.25 cents.

I actually enjoyed the bus ride up to Mui Ne. We passed many villages, rice fields, dragon fruit orchards, locals hanging out, cows grazing, water buffalo rolling around in the mud; it was quite entertaining and a peak into real Vietnamese life. We arrived at our beautiful beach resort and I was very happy to be out of the city.
