HE SAID:

This town is full of concrete and doesn't have much for a traveler except the more than impressive amphitheater.  After seeing a ton of ruins in Turkey, this one still was an amazing sight.  It was round, huge, and had archways all around it.  It was used for gladiator games in the past where the POW would have to fight for his life against a ferocious animal.  We continued our drive onto Rovinj through the torrential rain.  We were told to park our car at the 3rd roundabout and call the hotel (since driving isn't allowed in the town).  We knew calling could be an issue since we didn't have a phone, but we didn't know that finding the 3rd roundabout would take an hour in itself.  Once we found it we couldn't find any places open to make the call for us and we didn't want to walk very far since it was raining so hard.  We eventually found a hotel booking service that was open and they weren't happy to make the call to our already booked room.  They actually considered charging me for the call.  They called and the hotel staff came to the hotel booking office when we were back at the roundabout.  Of course we didn't know this until later so we waited about 20 minutes and then planned to call them from a restaurant and have them simply meet us there.  We parked in front of a restaurant 15 minutes from town and were able to find a wireless connection and was able to make a call using our computer to the hotel.  He met us there and drove our car to the hotel.  What an interesting check-in!
