HE SAID:
We left La Linea (near Gibraltar) to find some breakfast only to discover that people in this town must eat breakfast in their homes.  We couldn't find one place that was open for breakfast or coffee.  We followed signs to a McDonalds that took us forever to find and once we found our prize, it was closed.  So we stopped for our best meal in La Linea at the gas station to get some donuts.  Delicious!  We had a little issue on the way to Arcos when we discover (after the fact) that the map wrongly named our exit off the highway.  We finally made it to Arcos.  The streets on this hilltop town are so narrow that we had to turn our mirrors in towards the car so that we wouldn't hit the walls.  Got to our hotel and braved the heat once again.  Must be over 100 here.

After we found our way initially the drive to Arcos continued to be interesting Enjoying the view, stuck behind a truck

.  In route there were police that had stopped everyone and forced all the vehicles onto the shoulder of the road, both sides of traffic, and out in the middle of no where surrounded by sunflower fields. People were getting out of their cars and we had no idea what was happening. After about 20 minutes we finally saw what the commotion was all about.  A very wide truck was coming down the little road with huge windmill blades for a wind farm that generates electricity.  After that obstacle we made it to Arcos, Adam was a champ driver weaving through the narrow streets with no fear.
During the day Arcos was very hot and had the feeling of a ghost town, where was everybody? As it cooled into night it was much more enjoyable.  We enjoyed a drink at a terrace with an amazing view and watched all the sparrows flying about in a joyous frenzy.  Then headed off to bed early for our AM departure.  Little did we know it was going to turn into the night from hell.  We couldn't sleep because our room was very loud. After trying several measures to reduce the noise created from the wind we ended up switching rooms around midnight.  This next room was much quieter, but there was no AC and the beds were hard as rocks.  So by 4am, Adam couldn't take it anymore and said he was going back to our first room.  Thankfully the wind had died down and the noise along with it.  We ended up only getting a few hours sleep before leaving for the airport in Sevilla.
