HE SAID:
Today we flew from Barcelona to Madrid. Checked in at the hotel urban (www.derbyhotels.com/page.php?id=515). I love this place, especially the elevators! We were so tired of only eating Spanish food which seems to be 98% of the restaurants available we we told about a great Thai Restaurant (Thai Gardens) that we thought was great. It's hard to decipher if it was the food that was so good or our Asian cuisine withdrawals. Prior to dinner we visited the Prado Art Museum.
SHE SAID:
The airport in Barcelona was crazy. People everywhere, long lines, and pretty chaotic. But we made our flight. In retrospect I would recommend taking the AVE train versus flying if anyone every finds themselves in this situation. Driving into Madrid was beautiful. Very wide streets with flowers and trees and huge fountains at almost every other intersection.
I really enjoyed the Prado Art Museum. Adam and I rented the English Audio-guides. The way it works is that each important painting has a number next to it and you enter it into the guide and it tells you about the artist and the painting. I was going around room to room listening about all the paintings. By about an hour in Adam was following me practically moaning every time I would stop to listen.... think he had enough art! So of course I continued to listening to the paintings and he would go along, but he wasn't happy about it. He's so funny. Now I bet it won't be easy for me to get him back into another art museum anytime soon.
