Adam and I made it to Morocco, yeah! It was a pretty long day of travel filled with some interesting events. The most bizarre occurred in london. Adam and i were going through security screening when adam's backpack stopped the entire security line when it was being viewed under xray. The xray technician started calling over several other tsa officers and they were all standing around staring at the screen. at this point they pulled adam and me out of the line and had the other passengers move to a different screening machine. they continued on to question adam (and I) about what could be in the backpack that had wires and was long rectangular shape. they showed us the image on the screen and we couldn't figure out what it could be? thought maybe a surge protector???? they thought it was a bomb. they asked many times if the bag had been out of our site? honestly, i started to get a bit scared.... then we realized that it could be the skype telephone handset to be used with our computer. the tsa agents gave us the once over look and decided to trust us enough to open the bag by hand and check it out. turned out to be the skype phone next to a power bar with the cord wrapped around it. so just a warning don't pack a handset in your carry on bag and if you do wrap the cord in a circle with itself and not around the object. anyways, about an hour later we were on our way... the tsa agent told us that they are going to use the image from the xray machine for training... crazy.
So we thought that there was time before out flight. Not boarding for another 15 minutes and we sat down to get some food. Then all the sudden we hear them announcing that it was last boarding call for our flight? We were confused but ran to the gate, along with several other passengers, the airline (moroccan) was calling last call 10 minutes before the boarding time that was printed on the ticket... As we were going through the gate we asked the flight attendent why they were calling last call so early? they said, it's a "joke" to get people to board the plane faster! Not a very funny joke, in my opinion. running through the airport with a huge backpack! anyways after all the drama we were on our way to Casablanca, Morocco. Did a plane transfer in casablanca and caught a flight to marrakech and landed around 10pm local time.
