We pulled out of the neighborhood at about 9:00 am.  Traffic was really heavy until we got to
Hickory.  Then magically, the traffic thinned and the rest of the trip was easier. We checked into the Bear Creek Campground w hich is off I-40 south and west of downtown Asheville. Interestingly, it is about 3 miles from the neighborhood I grew up in.  We lived in Malvern Hills in West Asheville.  It was a great place to live with lots of friends in the neighborhood.  We used the road the campground is on frequently to go to my grandparents and to the WNC Farmers’ Market about a mile from the campground.

Setting up was not fun. The slide outs wouldn’t go out and we had no hot water.  We managed to get the slides to move finally, but they won’t come back in.  Big Problem!!!.  Jim called the repair man who can come Saturday morning.  We’re good until then.

We had dinner with my father and brother at Olive Garden—Daddy’s favorite place for salads.
Then back to the trailer about 9:00 for rest at last.
