We had a somewhat early start but for some reason everyone was incredible slow to get up and get packed up.  Our cook decided to cook pancakes which is awesome but each one took a long to make and he made a lot of extra to eat later and it took him quite a long time to cook.  It didn’t really matter because our tour leaders were late to get up too because I think the woman(Nova) was drunk last night and having a night of crying.  We left about an hour late which I don’t think has ever happened so far this 2 months.  We had a longish day of driving ahead of us but took a lot shorter than anticipated.  We arrived in the middle of the desert at yet another camp and had the afternoon free.  They had canoeing but at $25, it didn’t seemed worth it.  Maybe if they had a local paddling for you.  Yeah I said that!!!  So most of us filled our day lazily around and trying not to get burned or heat exhaustion.  A few of us found some shade by the river and talked the afternoon away.  I decided to do my usual workout routine after I helped prepare the veggies for our dinner.  I finished my routine and felt really lethargic but wanted to run because I had time and it had been a few days since.  I headed out at about sunset and took off down the road.  Because I didn’t pay attention on the way in, I didn’t know how much of a desert it was.  This was truly desert and actually pretty cool.  There were tall mountains that you could see the different layers of colored rocks and the marsish color of the terrain.  There was hardly any vegetation anywhere and nothing in sight but a few camps that were very green because they pumped in water from the nearby river.  After 15 blistering minutes of running, I headed back and felt even worse on the way back.  The mild heat wasn’t a bother for me but something else made me not have the best run ever but that’s the way it goes sometimes.  Dinner was lamb, sausage, potatoes, and veggies.  A shower happened and then I went to the bar to hang with the gang but felt dog tired and went to bed soon after.
