Today we visited the Deutsches Museum, which is not a typical art/history museum, but a Science one. We underestimated how massive this Museum was – its about 7 floors, and also has at least two other locations – we didn't get thru half of what was here. Our map shows there are 64 topics. Some of the ones we saw were Oil/Gas, Metals, Welding, Power Machinery, German Future Prize, Robotics, Model Railway, Aeronautics, Astronautics, Glass Technology, Paper, Technical Toys (Lego & Mechano!), Printing Technology. Its a very interactive museum, and has some really large exhibits, such as full-size yachts and trains, rockets, planes, mining equipment.

We were there for about 4 hours.  We went and grabbed some lunch at the local Market – Bratwurst and Bread.  Very tasty.  The Markets are there 6 days a week and they have everything from fresh fruit and vegies, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, flowers and the list goes on!   Even though the weather wasn’t great (yep – rainy again), there were still people in the beer garden having a few beers.

Visited the Hofbrauhaus. This used to be the Royal brewery, and is still owned by the state. A couple of people from USA sat next to us, very American - "Where ya all from!" There is a saying on the wall which is relevant to travellers, “Thirst is worse than home sickness”. Had a litre of beer each.

Got back to the 'van at a reasonable hour and started a load of washing just as a load of Contiki’ers came in. Lucky to have our load in before them, from the sounds it the girls get off the bus and make a dash to the laundry to try to get ahead of the rest of them.
