. We decided to head into Prague to check things out to make the next day a little easier. No sooner than we were off the train walking through the main street of Prague, some old homeless guy was walking around with his pants half down sharing what he had with the world. How lovely. Prague reminded us a little bit of Venice how there are small side streets leading to all the big tourist attractions. We saw quite a few beggers/homeless people but they weren’t in your face... they kept to themselves and took money from people who walked up to them. We had a late lunch/early tea at a nice cafe. Looking at the menu was weird.... 169 crown for chicken, potatoes and salad....divide 169 by 25 which about €6.5 which is about $10AUD....okay...we can afford that... that’s not too expensive. It’s like a Maths lesson before we can eat! Our meals were delicious! Now we had to work out how much to tip our waitress! Can’t be too generous but then we don’t want to insult her as she did a great job (and she was totally hot and had a great smile). So we gave her 100 crown as this was our smallest...it’s always wise to carry small change everywhere you go! Another stroll through the streets of Prague – a lot more young people here. The streets are soooo pebbly. I don’t know how chicks in high heels get around as the streets would deem more than a challenge! I was in thongs and still tripping over. We walked over 'Karlův Most’ AKA The Charles Bridge
! Stacks of people here with lots of stalls selling their artwork, handmade jewellery etc. Awesome view, awesome weather, awesome atmosphere. People kept on rubbing the statues that were along the Charles Bridge. I was like What the so I decided to rub away too! I found out later that people do it for luck – if you rub a certain statue its meant to give you luck that you will marry. Or this other statue gives you luck to become pregnant. I have no idea which one means what though! Prague was starting to look like a great place! We made a booking for a Segway tour for tomorrow! OMG can’t wait! We finally get to go on a Segway! We strolled some more and had an icecream and made it back to camp by 9pm. Trav decided to youtube ‘Segway Stacks’ to try and teach me what not to do on a Segway... I think he was worried that I was going to embarrass him tomorrow night (or he had a plan to make me nervous so I wouldn’t outshine him)!
We were keen to get to Prague, Czech Republic. We hadn't planned to go to this destination but from what Brett and Kate told us about Prague we thought we’d stop there for a few days. It took us about 4 hours to get from Vienne to Prague. There was a sign letting us know that we were in Czech! That was a first! And just after this sign we drove down a long road. At the beginning of this road there were signs everywhere advertising strippers & raunchy cabaret shows. There were casinos and more casinos! Drove on some more and there were houses and then at the end of this road there were stalls of people selling fruit and vegetables. The whole road felt out of place. We have another currency in Prague being the crown. 100 crown is about €4 which is about $6AUD. Found a campsite which is about a 10min train ride into the city centre. Very clean campsite with hot water and loo paper! They also charge you €5 for the internet but its unlimited and we were able to use the internet from Helios which makes things a little more convenient
