We decided to head to a local Maccas to try and get some of our blog uploaded. Maccas...2.7km walk.  Piece of cake!  I'm so glad all of it wasn’t uphill though!  We got to Maccas at about 10:30am but they didn’t open till 11am!  No brekky menu here!  We were grateful that we were able to sit outside and still use their free wiifi!

From there we found a bus that took us into Geneva city centre.  You were able to just jump on the bus and purchase your own ticket through a vending machine.  None of it was in English so we played around with it and just purchased the one ticket eventually.  Like Trav said before, there wasn’t a great deal to do in Geneva.  We looked around at some of the shops.  There were quite a few jewellery shops with a guard at the front door and VIP entry only.  Police ride around on these mo-ped things....see picture as I’m hopeless at’re probably picturing these old man bike things!  A lot happens by the Geneva river.  We saw this guy that had 3 cups and he had a few people gathered around him.  He would move the containers around and the people around him had to guess which container the ball was under...betting money of course.  Because they saw us watching, they decided to try and join us in and gave Trav 100CHU.  Straight away Trav thought something was up and he said no and gave the money back and we walked off.  We then saw the same scenario later that afternoon with different people.  We watched from a safe distance and it was a scam.  The people around him pretending to join in are probably part of the scam, and they try to attract a tourist into the group. They had spotters. We saw them quickly pack up and leg it, and a cpl minutes later the police came past. You can never let your guard down in any country no matter how safe you think it is!

There is a big water jet in Lake Geneva which is marked on all maps as a tourist site. Has been operational since 1891 (thats what the sign says!) renovated in 1951. Water ejects at 200kph, 500L per second, to a height of 140m. We walked out onto the narrow slippery pier, and took a short video, was quite wet from the spray:

Also went on a miniature tourist tram thing (Kel says Choo Choo train thing), for a half-hour tour of Geneva. Geneva does not have a lot of old buildings, we are looking forward to getting up to the Alps and seeing other areas of Switzerland.
