Hey everyone! This is Evelyn Mohammed reporting for Gathering News and I'm going to be updating you all on what's going on. We have had a busy, but exciting day here in Texas. It's been a blast! This morning was a pretty normal morning for us. We had a delicious breakfast and an amazing bible study! That definitely started the day off right, if I may say so myself. After that, Jessica Rockey, Mandy Mills, Carie Levy, Katie Levy, and myself went to an extraordinary interest center named "None of the Above". The interest center was absolutely great! We all learned a whole bunch and I know for a fact we got closer to God today.

After the morning's activities, we went to the Riverwalk to have a YUMMY lunch. We really bonded and had a couple of laughs, which in my opinion, is one of the best things. We got even closer to each other and to God in that time. It's quite the blessing to have friends like them!
When we finished lunch, we had A LOT of time on our hands, so we walked around the Riverwalk and high-fived two hundred kids from the gathering. After that, we met up with Elizabeth who had been to two sessions that morning at a Jamie Grace concert. The concert was BEYOND amazing. Just being able to worship with that many people from all over the country was overwhelming. When the concert ended we got our famous blue backpacks or bracelets signed by Jamie Grace and her sister AND we actually talked to them, which was very cool. Carie, Katie, Jessica, Mandy, and I  advertised our free hugs again which was super fun! We had a great afternoon!
Finally, one of my favorite parts of today was the mass event. I mean, everything was absolutely great. Today's mass event was Love Born, Love Sent, Love Died, and Love Live, which means that Jesus was born, then sent to us, and died so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Love Live means that Jesus is the love that lives. Afterwards, we worshipped for a little bit and then we started, what I call, the emotional part of the mass event. During this part of the event, we were told to write our sins on a piece of paper and pray about them. While the song was playing in the background, we prayed and I personally asked for forgiveness. Then we started to sing my favorite song Lay 'Em Down by Needtobreathe. Needless to say, I cried quite a bit, but we got to turn to our neighbors and tell them that their sins were and are forgiven! Now, that was really a lot to take in, but in the end we were all smiling. Oh!  I almost forgot we got to watch the Skit Guys with Rachel right after the Mass Event, which made me laugh hysterically!
The ending of our day was great! Worshipping, becoming so much closer to God, seeing the Jesus painter again (his painting was so beautiful) were great and I just loved it! Today was incredible on so many levels even though it was busy. I honestly feel that I have become so much closer to Jesus. What a great ending to our day!
I'm looking forward to what tomorrow holds! We have worship tomorrow morning and the mass event at night, so we will be busy! I'm going to continue growing closer to Jesus and putting more into my faith, which is simply amazing. That is the greatest thing of all!
This is Evelyn signing off in 3...2...1

Too many good Interest Centers (IC)...not enough time! Yesterday morning, Elizabeth went to Life as a Mission Trip with Dr. Jacob Youmans. "What if the same focus and intensity that you have on mission trips was applied to everyday life? They talked about ways you can be a "witness" in the mission field of your home, school & community. Wouldn't you like to attend that IC?

Robin and I also attended None of the Above with Rev Jim Henkell. He did the familiar "here is the church, here is the steeple" with his hands. He changed it with reverse order as he asked, what 'the church' is doing to shut the doors? With the hand motion we recited together, "Have a passion for people, don't close the doors, point them to Jesus (the steeple part), then there'll be more."

Carie, Katie & Robin totally identified with Jamie Grace and her sister, Morgan, as they joked and jibed about the world's perception and comments about being home schooled. Amazingly, Grammy nominee Jamie also has dealt with Tourette's since she was 8 (also, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and echolalia) active 21-year old who lives with her parents, James and Mona Harper, cofounders and pastors of Kingdom City Church, Atlanta - thus, a preacher's kid. Just graduating from college with a degree in Children's Ministry, she's working on a new album, and acting in a movie (Grace Unplugged due out this year). I REALLY LIKE JAMIE GRACE...she signed my CD. ;)

Robin and I also attended the IC on More Than an Absent-Minded Wizard: Who Jesus is For Us by Rev. Bill Yonker. He showed some snippets of videos to bring home his message - one was a 5 yr old who took it upon herself (shocked her parents) to cut her hair (and then gathered the dropped locks) only to give them to her chemo-enduced bald 7 yr old brother. Sacrificial love.

We enjoyed fellowship time with Concordia St Paul, MN alumni at their reception atop the Tower of the Americas. The teens texted their restaurant location so we could join them at Pat Obrien's (same owner as New Orleans) for some jumbalaya, etc., prior to the mass event in the AlamoDome...Rachel Reidy's testimony, the live nativity, drama vignettes of Jesus' ministry of healing, calming the storm, raising the dead, tortured, hanging on a tree (boxes and boxes and boxes of our paper-recorded sins poured out before him and disappearing), sins forgiven, empty tomb, personally forgiving one another by moving. great-niece, Jessica Smith, just 8 seats away - joy. Rachel joining us for Skit Guys - joy. Being with these 6 gals for all these days, and such celebration and harmony & spiritual growth - JOY!
