Guess what? Today was another busy, fun-filled, God-seeing day! Surprised? I'd like to say I’m not, but it is absolutely amazing to see God work in such miraculous ways. It is absolutely amazing to become closer to God in such a short time. It is absolutely amazing to make such fantastic friends and better relationships by being ourselves and having fun in a God-environment. If anyone asked me this week where I saw God, the answer would immediately be everywhere. He’s in the Bell Tower 5 stories up with Rachel, on the scaffold in the sanctuary with Barbara, getting up on a ladder with Jessica, working on electricity with Elizabeth, and moving where needed with Lois. He’s using our mouths, hands, feet, and fingers to do His work, what he has called us to do, and he is giving us a great pleasure and better understanding of Him by doing so. From dawn to long after the sun has gone down we are being blessed and being a blessing to those around us, and it’s all by the grace of God!
We once again started the day off with a Bible study after breakfast. We then headed to go do our respective jobs. Rachel again went up to the Bell Tower with Broc, LaRay, and Michael and they began moving the platform so that more bricks can be fixed and finishing taking the old paint off the wood so it can be repainted. The painters were Barbara, Jessica, David, Lanzie, O’Nazia, and Ashley. Barbara was once again up on the scaffold with her paint brush repainting the sanctuary, and today Jessica, who is afraid of heights, got up on the ladder to work on painting the walls higher up! Elizabeth and Lois (and for a little while Jessica) started off by putting up new shelving in the church kitchen and from there moved onto a 101 training in electricity from Pastor Randy. They learned how to strip the wires and then cover them so they can be used for outlets.
In the middle of the afternoon, it began to rain so the Bell Tower workers had to hurry and clean up to head down to ground level, because of this, Rachel also got a chance at stripping the wires. It was a day full of work that had many blessings.
Once again, Annie and Stacey made us a delicious dinner of pork tenderloin, corn on the cob, vegetables, and brownies! Tonight we didn’t have a youth group to go too, so we were able to spend some fellowship time together before heading off to Ted Drewes! And yes, it was delicious. For those of you who don’t know, Ted Drewes is an exemplary custard (ice cream) place that is always busy in St. Louis. Anyway, it was absolutely delicious and we all had delicious ice cream (or slushy) and a great time-with a little sticky mess in between. Rachel and O’Nazia are quite good at giving each other a hard time and so while Rachel was holding some water, O’Nazia accidently bumped into her causing water to go all over her, which caused water to go all over him, which caused Orange Slushy to go on Rachel, but hey! All’s well that ends well, right? And even though we were a sticky mess, we were a laughing sticky mess, who were also pretty wet;) From there we went and took a quick tour given to us by Pastor Randy of Concordia St. Louis, which is where both Pastor Randy and Pastor (James) Rockey went to seminary, and we were able to actually meet a professor who deals with immigration and is a convert to Christianity from Muslim and originally lived in Africa, an amazing man full of an amazing story who truly lives for the LORD.
Once we returned to The Rock, we had our closing Bible study and then it was off to bed (except for those of us who blog…). Tomorrow it will continue to be a continuation of our jobs, with a hope of finishing our jobs that were set goals at the beginning of the week. We will have a day and a half of work left-tomorrow and Thursday morning. Thank you so much for all your prayers and thoughts. It is such an amazing blessing to know that there are people standing behind us in all that we’re doing as we work for the LORD.

God’s Blessings,
Rachel Rockey
Elizabeth Rockey
Jessica Rockey
Lois Schafer
Barbara Montoya
