WE BELIEVE in the Resurrection and the Life; therefore, we love and serve as we LIVE in him.

Whew! What a day it's been. We’re extremely busy all day, and enjoying every minute of it! Now, before I go on, I must apologize if any of these blogs don’t seem totally coherent because I’m writing somewhere between 12 and 1 in the morning, because that’s what time it is when we get back to our hotel and settled in so I can write. Also, I’ve found that publishing blogs in the morning works better so I have less time working with pictures, but hopefully there will still be a blog update everyday and at least enough captions to make sense. Now that I have that out of the way, this week has been incredible, indescribable, and unforgettable. Today we began our themed days and workshops. Our theme today was LIVE.

We started out today’s Bible study by studying the story of Lazarus’s resurrection in the book of John, and concentrated on how to LIVE as Christ would want. Immediately following we went to work at the FL-GA District booth for about an hour. From there we had free roam of The Commons, where the district booths, college booths, and organizational booths are located, and yes today we went around to almost all the Concordia College booths and signed up for information, well Rachel did a lot, and Elizabeth did some. Anyway, if there is one thing I learned today, it’s that The Rockey’s are well known. Today I (Rachel speaking) met a moose hunting buddy of Uncle Jonny, friends of Josh and Mary from Valparaiso, old friends of Uncle James, and other people who happened to know the Rockey name, I’m still not sure if this is a good or bad thing…Anyway! Elizabeth and Rachel went to the workshop Living God’s Mission in Hong Kong and learned the stories of some missionaries who are teaching English in Lutheran schools over in Hong Kong. After that, Rachel, Elizabeth, Pastor Rockey, and Ava went to see Bob Lenz speak. Bob Lenz is an amazing inspiration speaker like no other; he’s real, down-to-earth, and funny. The overall theme of his workshop was "Every life is worthy of life." In other words, it doesn’t matter if you’re short, tall, skinny, fat, old, young, handicapped, athletic, or anything else, your life matters, and you deserve to live it out. He had his handicapped sister there with him who is an amazing lady, who while she may not be considered “gifted” by the world today, is sure of herself, beautiful, and loving. Her being at his workshop brought it to the next level, his point was, “if my sister deserves to live life, and you won’t tell her she’s not special, you won’t tell her she’s not normal, then why don’t you deserve to live?” After that, we spent time walking around the other booths open to us at the Convention Center and from there headed over to The Dome for the Mass Event.

Tonight’s mass event was absolutely incredible. We were able see the Skit Guys, The Jesus Painter, and Brock Gill (an illusionist); along with all the other elements we had last night. After the mass event we headed over to the Aquarium for the FL-GA District event (MO was also there) and had a night of fun and fellowship, once again seeing people that we haven’t seen in a while (or for some of us, never before) with food and time to look around the Aquarium. After that we headed back to our hotel anxious to jump in bed and get a good night’s sleep before tomorrow’s busy day begins. Tomorrow looks just as exciting and we can’t wait to start off the day! God’s Blessings and thanks for keeping us in your prayers.
