Some of the 160 odd photos I took were pretty rubbish but I'd say half actually made it to the laptop. I was extremely pleased with some of them, though a little disappointed how out of focus the macro pictures were
On the way back the weather took a turn for the worst, but due to the fact I was in a wood land I stayed relatively dry. Even walking along the road I was sheltered. Then as soon as I entered the farm boundary I got soaked in 30 seconds flat. I'm destined to die of TB now.
In the evening Tony was our host once more. For starters I had roasted red pepper with anchovies and tomato. This was deliciously light and the crusty Italian bread gratefully soaked up the juices. For my main course I'd selected a huge piece of place with mussels. Once again it was accompanied with the deep fried cauliflowers and fantastically fresh vegetables. The white wine was a Verdicchio (sounds like a salad leaf, and would be nice to accompany such) and the red was a "Friuli". A strong thick red which deserved savouring, perhaps without a delicious meal attached!
