For those of you who have never come out to Point Pelee, this National Park is one not to miss. We spent two HOT, HOT sunny days at the southern most tip of Canada. It's the same latitude as Barcelona, Rome and we certainly roasted under the sun. We found a beautiful campsite at Wheatly Provincial Park, right next to the water and marshlands. We were reminded once again, how much more private and picturesque campgrounds are in Canada compared to the U.S.

With the spring migration of song birds to Point Pelee, we found ourselves waking up at 5:30am to the symphony of bird chatter. By 7am, we were on a floating boardwalk trail winding through marshlands, a warm breeze so fresh we were huffing huge lungfuls of this addictive stuff. Sam is amazingly a good birding dog. Whenever we stop to identify a bird, he stops and waits for deer to spring by or he grazes on the plant life. We won't bore you with the species of birds we saw, other than our highlight of spotting a Screech Owl napping in the day. Cool! The "point" of Point Pelee was pretty smelly with all the washed up fish drying and baking in the heat but the rest of the park was wonderful. Definitely, one of our favourite stopovers.

We spent Karin's 31st birthday, watching yet another gorgeous sunset off of Lake Erie, sipping wine, barbecuing steak and roasting corn. We're off today heading back to Yankee-land to Chicago. See you all then!
