Took the overnight train to Siliguri where we picked up our 4wd jeeps and headed off for Darjeeling.  The drive took us through various towns, tea plantations, and up a harrowing winding road into the fog of the mountains.  Our hotel is right on the side of the mountain like most of the buildings and is called the Travelers Inn.  We had some tea, Darjeeling of course, and watched the rain, fog and sun come in and then out while we waited for our food at the hotel.  Finally we set out walking, because you really can't get around any other way up here the roads are too narrow, one-way usually and steep.  Tonight we have dinner at our leader's house then up before the crack of dawn tomorrow am to try to steal a glimpse of the view up at Tigers Hill...
