Arrived in Alexandria having slept fairly well on the train.  Checked into our hotel right on the corniche...very flash! Took the tram to Fort Qaitbay and goofed around with the locals there...mostly roving bands of young men who were out due to the Ramadan Feast celebration.  It was a case of dodge em along the sidewalk as they would inevitably walk directly into your path leering and talking, yelling to get your attention.  After a month of not eating during daylight hours, the locals are really happy to be celebrating the conclusion of Ramadan!

Finally took a cab to the new library building....very modern and cool but also very closed by the time we got there.  Danielle and I enjoyed a tea by the water and...what a suprise...a sheesha.  Ate fresh fish for dinner, smoked lots more sheesha while listening to some latin music then some of us ended up at a much improved dance club in a large open mall.  Lots of dancing to different types of music while huge bodyguards protected us from the locals by looking very ominous. and flexing their muscles and sometimes grimacing.  One guy could not resist our leaders belly dancing and jumped into our circle for a belly dance was close but we are still not sure who won.  The guy grabbed me for a bit more sexy dancing after that...just enough to make the guys girlfriend drag him off the dance floor really upset. So much drama...

After about 3 hours of sleep, caught a public bus to the Siwa Oasis the following day...clearly the closest I was getting to Lybia on this trip!
