Tunisia is such a change of pace from Egypt. The French influence is strong, as is the coffee! Had light buttery pastries for breakfast this am with the ladies of my new group. Rick and I met up with the group yesterday at our historic hotel right near the market called the Hotel Djerba Erriadh after a short domestic flight from Tunis. I picked up a nasty cough due to a combination of way too much sheesha and lack of sleep while in Egypt so today I stayed behind while the rest of the group visited one of the oldest synagogues in the world. Last night we had a group dinner and a bit of a stroll through the souk. Most of the buildings are white and blue.
I bought a classic light brown long wool pullover for the upcoming cold desert nights...I look very obi wan kanobi...fitting since we will be visiting the site of Luke Skywalkers home soon...now where did I put my light saber?
