Arrived in Brasov mid-day...let's see...overcast, then sun, then clouds, then sun...same ole same ole.  No rain though!  Found a smoky Internet cafe after having a coca cola light next to a bunch of smokers in a cafe at the top of a mountain (hill?) above town...noticing a pattern?  Aaaaargh...hate smoke so much, which of course is why everyone lights up around me and their smoke is attracted to me like a magnet....Anyway, piled into a smallish tram with the rest of my tour groupies.  The tram was bright red with Coca Cola painted on the side and went up up up....had to close my eyes a bit.  Jumped off as the tram shook and rocked back and forth...

Before, had a bit of a wander about town with our local guide who shared his not so positive opinion about Romania joining the EU...his grandma can't make her cheese the ways she has anymore due to new more restrictive EU rules, small stores going out of business, locals struggling, big mall stores taking over...sound familiar?  Globalization and modernization just like home.  American pop and rap and hip hop all over...people consuming new new new stuff and seeming to love it.  I guess it's all those years of deprivation in the past during communism.  If the people will come...they will build it....
