It's been cold, wet and foggy and rainy since getting to Romania...ugggh.  We motivated at an outrageously early time this am to get on our private transport to the train station for our 7 hour ride to Sighisoara.  Due to time issues, the spirit of Mario Andretti temporarily entered the body of our unsuspecting van driver...thank goodness for Bonine my chewable travel sickness medicine. Whipping around corners on the mountain roads in the fog and rain...hmmm....thanks I'll take the 45 C. in Jordan instead!

Our leader is sorting out our rooms now.  I am currently sleeping on a couch in a triple hostel room...ummmm....don't think that's going to work.  Our train ride and train was probably as close to an India experience I have had in Europe so far.  Romania is certainly going to get a big upgrade now that they have joined the EU in terms of infrastructure.  We had assigned seating but nobody pays attention to that as long as you get on the correct car you can pretty much sit anywhere.  All was fine until this couple came on and INSISTED that they get their assigned seats.  Threw us all into a bit of turmoil.  It was musical chairs after that.  I went and sat with them since noone else was inclined and offered them a dried apricot as my international peace offering.  It seemed to work a bit, I spied a small smile coming from the lady.  The man with her stayed silent and immovable.  I made my way back to my original cabin and speculated whether the couple was married.  My tourmate Bill quipped:  "Were they talking?"...I said "No" and he said, "They're married!".

Lots of relaxing this pm and tomorrow too is a free day.  Get to see a UNESCO Saxon church in a Saxon village tomorrow evening...stay tuned!
