Arrived in Istanbul via overnight train from Ankara yesterday.  Rode the ferry to our hotel and the view was fantastic.  Stood at the front of the ferry watching as the city revealed itself and could feel the energy pouring into me!  Off to Princes Islands today...will write more later...

The Prince's Islands were great.  One of my tourmates and I took the ferry and got off at the third Island so that we could hang out at the pool for some chill time.  We sat on the top deck of the boat and it was so unbelievably hot.  Even the sarongs and hats providing shade didn't help.  At times the breeze would pick up and cool us down a bit.  No cars are allowed on the island so we saw mostly horse drawn carriages and bicycles.  Trudged up a bit of a hill and found the old wooden hotel with grounds at the back terraced down the hill.  It was a bit like taking a step back in time with the architectural style and decor.  A couple was dancing quite romantically to some traditional music against the backdrop of the windows along the rear of the building.  Quite lovely.

Took the ferry back early evening as the sun was setting against the islands and skyline of Istanbul.  The wind was whipping around and cooling the air, the sound and sights of the mammoth seagulls all around.  Back into the hustle and bustle of Istanbul.
