Said my final goodbyes to Rome this morning. My taxi driver took me the scenic route out to the airport to see a few last sites. I flew Aegean Airlines to Athens where I am staying at the airport hotel Sofitel to relax before I fly to Nepal tomorrow.
Reading a new book called: Desert Queen...the Extraordinary Life of Gertrude Bell. An inspiring story of an English woman who explores the world, in particular the Arab world pre and during World War I. She explored the world and negotiated its varying cultures when it really was an exploration of unknown places. With the internet these days, you are never really gone in the same way. While you can choose to stay away from email and the internet, I doubt that there are truly any undiscovered areas anymore.....
