The weather continues to be good, warm and sunny with the occasional cloud formation to cool things down a bit. I am going to spend the day on the beach today in order to rest prior to my train ride to Rome tomorrow. Yesterday, I took the local boat to Riomaggiore where I picked up the hiking trail and walked back to Corniglia. Right before the trail I stopped into a self-service bar and had a drink and some cheese while enjoying the view of the waves breaking on the cliffs below. I walked the two easiest routes between two towns of the Cinque Terre..Riomagiore to Manorolo to Corniglia. The path from Corniglia to Vernazza and then from Vernazza to Monterosso are much more difficult....
In Corniglia, I was tired and thirsty and took the train back to Monterosso. After a quick nap I headed out for a drink at a local bar and then dinner as the sun was setting in the distance turning the blue sky to pink and then dark. The cliffs around the town lit up around the beach.
