We had the most beautiful fall weather today. I am savoring every moment knowing what I have to look forward to in Asia. Saw a couple of more cathedrals today.....I say it so casually because everywhere you turn, there is another cathedral! More on this later....

I spent about 4 hours at the Louvre today and saw about 20% if that. Paintings such as the Mona Lisa (quite small actually but intriguing from behind the crowds!) and fantastic sculpture. I am too exhausted to describe it so you will have to look at the pictures! Then it was off to the Musèe d`Orsay which has the most delicious selection of Impressionist paintings you can imagine. I'm not sure how to describe it but a few of them really took my breath away...the experience transcended the visual.

On my way back to the hotel, I snuck into Saint Chappelle for a look after bypassing it yesterday due to long lines. All I can say is stained glass! What a spectacular structure. Unlike most of the cathedrals I have seen, it is located in a courtyard. You cannot see the cathedral from the street. My pamphlet says in the 'lle-de-la-Citè' which houses the Paris law courts. From the Xth to the XIVth centuries, it housed the residence and the seat of power of the French Kings.

I walked back along the Seine enjoying the sidewalk vendors and cafè crowds, past young boys playing football (soccer) and finally for now to the internet cafè where I am enjoying the most buttery croissant ever!
