Then Woco and I continued north up the east coast. The coast just progressively continued to get more and more stunning...it was truly breathtaking - gorgeous blue water, white squeaky sand and again NO ONE around!! I got to St. Helens after aboot 2 hrs which is a bit inland and the 'largest' town in the area...got some provisions and headed to the nearby coast towards Binalong Bay. I decided to head to an area called Bay of Fires and i was absolutely blown away by the beauty and seclusion (and it takes a lot for me to get blown away)...again miles of white sand, turquoise water and big orange rocks (from the lichen in the water)
I went for a walk along the beach and along the rocks (i love climbing/playing with the rocks along the water) and then just sat on the orange rocks in awe and amazement. I was truly taken back and so happy! I then founded another place with more rocks where i had another picnic for one...again no one around. And i was soo excited to find that you can actually camp literally right beside the sensational ocean and beach for free...with trees closeby as well for protection and shade. Just everything you want - at least everything i want!! I didn't camp as i had head back that evening but nice to know.
It was a winding 3 hr drive back to the 'city'...through dense forest to open green fields and paddocks of rolling hills and of course mountains in the back drop. I all of a sudden felt like i was in england with all the gorgeousness of the green hills and narrow, curvey roads. It was a trippy feeling considering i was in paradise only an hour before!
I love tasmania!! I had no idea of the beauty and seclusion it offers...and i KNOW there is plenty more to be seen. I can't wait...
