Where I stayed
We headed to Freycinet National Park, on the east coast, on a pennisula, aboot 2 hrs drive. The drive itself was lovely...many miles of brown empty farmer fields with hills/mountains in the background as well as trees. So many gorgeous dead treees around and a plethora of sheep!! Thought i was back in Wales for a minute, they are everywhere. And a few cows.
The park itself is known for its beauty and hiking. I headed first to Honeymoon cove and had a picnic for one right on the rocks by the stunning blue ocean water. Then started on an hr and a half walk to Wineglass Bay. It was a lovely walk up hill with a spectular view...and even more spectular when i got to the lookout - a view of wineglass bay, and the hills (gonna let the pictures do the talking). Then drove to a few more bays and coves with small walks to the beach. It was so invigorating to be with nature and alone...there was hardly anyone around. Another thing i love aboot Tassie, no people! And i was sooooo glad i had Woco as there is no way i could have explored the national park like i did without a car.
So after a full day of hiking, sitting on rocks, taking in the views, driving... i went to Bicheno, a small town (all towns are small in tassie) on the east coast still, to spend the night in the hostel. A lovely quaint town with no much going on except more gorgeous coastline.
