Jingo had the brilliant idea that we should go surfing in Noosa for the day, and soon enough it turned into the whole weekend. It was a fabulous weekend...so much so we're going back this weekend. If i'm gonna become a surfer chick which i intend on doing, its gonna take lots of practice and well..fun!
We arrived Friday night, only a 2 hr drive. Checked oot the beach momentarily and then we got consumed with beer or we consumed beer should i say, a few pitchers (or jugs as they call them here) and the night was done like that
. Then Saturday, the surfing began...yeehaw! The beach is only a 2 min walk from the hostel which is great. And apparently Noosa is one of the best places in the world to surf, especially with a longboard which Jingo conveniently owned. Longboard is better to learn on anyways. We had 2 boogie boards as well so tried those out first on the waves which was grand but not so grand when i tried my hand at surfing, i realized i had no energy left which is essential. So sunday i tried surfing first and just kept falling over and over again, trying to catch the wave but still loved it and i hope there's at least potential. I think i'm hooked still. And there's the lifestyle as well - to just sit on the beach or around the coast on some of the rocks, just watching the waves and the surfers, just doing nothing, chillng..and that's what we did. It was great...and laughed out asses off alot as well, we seem to be good at that. It was a great weekend and can't wait to do it all over again.
That's the most exciting thing that has happened which is pretty exciting..., same old other than that..working mon to fri which works very well with the weekend getaways so that's lovely. I have things happening the next few weekends so lots to keep me entertained and therefore hopefully a bit entertainment factor for y'all. Please hold...
I love surfing! Even though i wasn't completely competent with my surfing abilities...as i kept falling before i even got to stand up on the board. I did stand up for literally a split second a few times, but definitely not long enough to count as surfing. It was bloody brilliant though!
