Melaka is a historical town with a small old town that can be wandered around in a few hours..lovely, red buildings dating back to the 1600s from the old dutch influence, some old churches and a view of the sea as well. There's a mix community of chinese, malays, indians, some portugese. The old colonial buildings and homes are lit up by red lights are night which makes it pretty.
Anyways back to Melaka...so i had a nice day of wandering around and taking lots of pictures, talking to some locals. Then the next day, i literally took it easy and relaxed/tanned on the hostel's rooftop terrace...and went to the gym..haha! Felt like exerting some energy so went to the local gym and i do belive i met a past Mr
My orignial plan when i booked all my flights was to take a boat from Melaka straight to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia as there is a boat that goes everyday, made sense as it was soo close but i luckily reconsidered that...as my border crossings usually never go stright forward and i wasn't feeling it. I discovered that i may not be able to get a visa on arrival at that border crossing like you can at many of the main crossings..some people said yes but i still didn't feel certain and hadn't met anyone that had gone that way. And i also realized after looking a bit closer at Indonesia in my handy book that it is huuuugeeee...and so is Sumatra...and i would have 2, 30 hr bus trips ahead of me to get where i need to be and i don't have that much time left... blah blah blah. So i booked a flight from Kuala Lumpar instead and felt good aboot that decision, not debacles for me at this border!
Alrighty roo...i'm off...
