On the island of Cebu, i ventured to this relatively small town of Moalboal to get some adventure and activity. I actually stayed a few kms from the town, on the coast called Panagsama Beach. Not much of a beach right there but some gardens and rocks and gorgeous blue water with reefs and the sun some areas to lay myself down in the sun.

The first day i arrived i rented a bicyle right away and rode to White Beach where the proper white sand is was a lovely ride through the lush green villages with kids walking home from school screaming 'hello' 'hello' and then rode to the actual town of Moalboal to checkout the market where all the locals are just hanging around the side of the street on their tricycles or motorbikes waiting for work and socializing. Everyone is again soooo really is nice!

Day two i thought it was time to touch up on my tan as my true skin doesn't take long to fade back to my good 'ol Canadian white tone after being in the mountains and the it was well over due. I rented a snorkel as well and saw a few fishy and what not but not too much as the visibility was still quite bleak due to the typhoon. After only a few hours of 'tanning' i was quite red and there was no need to flip over to tan my back as the snorkeling definitely took care of that...that was red as well. So it was time to take cover...

The next day i was able to go canyoning finally...some real adventure, the reason i came to this area. It's the low season though so i had to wait until at least 2 people were going and thankfully this lovely South African signed up. Again the water was still veryyy high and strong due to Frank so it was a bit more challenging than expected. Canyoning basically involves walking/hiking/abseiling/swimming/sliding down/through/across/down a river and waterfalls...whatever the situation calls for. There were many waterfalls and the first one posed a little bit of a problem as there was sooo much water and the strength of it was incredible. So as you abseil, you had to kind of swing over the first bit to not get pushed into it...which the guys were able to do but me and the S. African girl weren't soo successful and got dragged right into it, no worries that's what the rope is for. So after a few scraps, and a decision to go on the other side the falls, it was much better - what a rush though! It's a shame there was soo much water as we had to by pass a few falls and find another way but safety first eh!

Then my last day, i decided not to leave til late afternoon as i'd much rather stay where i was and spend less time in the city. So i rented a motorbike (who knows how many more times i'll get a chance to drive them) and headed to Kwasana Falls, about a 30 mins drive, a lovely drive too. I think these falls move into first place for my favourite falls. As you walk along the river with blue fresh water, you come across falls after falls, big ones too with big beautiful swimming holes. I wish i had more time to explore as i could have gone farther but only had a few took a dip, try to swim under the falls but the strength of it definitely outpowered me and just pushed me back, good fun though!

And then my lovely time in Moalboal came to a close...i really enjoyed it here it though as there's lots to do or nothing to do, whichever...and beautiful with the sea and the villages. I grabbed a bus from town to head to Cebu City...headed for the front seat of the bus as it was free and figured i lucked out with the view. I was thinking twice aboot my decision though as i got to witness first hand just how fearless, crazy and aggressive the driver drove on the narrow winding roads...i'm a calm person but that was certainly a test. It's all good though...
