Where I stayed
Unfortunately i didn't find it particularly enteratining... there wasn't alot to do here, lovely beach with white sand and blue water but very rough waves and lots of junk and what not up on the shore (from typhoon frank) with very high tide...so nowhere to lay myself down...i tried to ride the waves and bodysurf but not so much fun, and no other sort of activities to do really. So i was glad i had intended to stay only one night..ohh and very expensive as well. I had a few beers with an Irish guy and then called it a night...
I'll take this time to address Frank, the typhoon....i've heard news and now have read news (and it's the talk of town) aboot a superferry that went down on Saturday
. It had left Manila and was half way to its destination, Cebu (where i am writing this now). It's all very real and close! The ferry was carrying just over 700 passenagers and there has been 4 survivors thusfar, 4!! Not sure if you got news of this wherever you are... but it's very sad...they are very famaliar with typhoons here so no excuse really. The boat should have never left in the first places as it was a signal 3 typhoon (the worst) in the middle of the sea right where the boat was headed, even tho i was only signal 1 (the lowest) in manila at the time but frank was moving north. Apparently it's up to the captain and the boat owner to make the call...they made the wrong call...too money hungry perhaps! All those innocent people trusted the boat people with their decision and probably didn't think twice aboot getting on the boat...don't think i would've either, would've figured they know more aboot the sea than me. I think i will now though..and hopefully remember to use my own judgment. I was on a very similar boat, leaving the same place, headed the same way, only 2 days prior...if i had been 2 days behind on my journey then you just don't know and i'm glad i don't know..i'm soo thankful for that. Sorry don't mean to be over dramatic as i'm obviously not a victim but has really got me thinking...it shows just how precious life is. You really don't know what's gonna happen, you can't take anything for granted..and you must really live your life! And love it! I'm so sorry for all the people that were lost in the tragedy...
After 2 nights in the forest, i was ready for some beach action, as it's been awhile. So headed to Panglao which is very close to Bohol island as there's a bridge connecting it.
