Angkor Wat

Ah, Angkor Wat- the be all and end all of one's trip to South East Asia.
Angkor Wat: A wonder of the world style collection of elaborate and very different temples built over the centuries by the Khmer empire curiously all situated in close proximity to each other for the convenience of the typical modern tourist, particularly of the Japanese breed.
However, despite the hype (and luckily for Tim who was very sick and had to miss the entire thing), it wasn't THAT great. Which is possibly the reason it's almost unknown amongst the non-travelling population. I mean, yes, they were very large and impressive, but when it gets down to it, they are just temples- and as I previously mentioned, the viewing of temples gets old real quick.
There were some cool bits, like the tomb raider tree, or this room that only echoed when you thumped yourself as hard as you could on the chest- but after the first day, we had had enough, but being the knobheads that we are, we went and bought three day passes right off the bat and then felt as though we HAD to go back. We had a quick stop back at the big one and then instead went and donated blood-
well... Shaun and Ryan did anyway. They completely ignored me because they thought I was about 14 and not old enough to donate - I was pissed off after I realized that was the reason and not because I didn't weigh enough, which I had originally thought. Well, I tell ya, I hope those jerks feel good when some poor little Cambodian child dies because there wasn't blood for him!
