Winding on down

Wish I had really exciting news or bizarre cultural stories to share with you now, but I don't. I've just been trying to tie up loose ends, make my rounds to say goodbyes and enjoy lots of my favorites insofar as food and drink, etc. It's amazing how much crap one can accumulate in just 2.5 months! I've been running around finding buyers for my satellite and TV. It's great because as anyone from America knows, once you buy anything it automatically depreciates about 50% once you get it home. And if you decide to sell anything off, including electronic equipment, you can forget about getting a good price for it. This is not the case here...as I have gotten 100% of the original price that I paid for everything! The main reason, though, is because I bought the stuff up in Cairo where it's like 50% of the price here in Dahab (due to transport and the traditional mark-up costs). So as long as I sell it for under Dahab prices, I am good to go.
Anyways, I am still on schedule to leave on the Monday overnight bus to Cairo. The majority of you probably don't have to travel ghetto (on a budget) like me, but if you ever do--the best tip is to always travel on overnight buses as this saves you a night of paying for accommodations! It's not the most comfortable experience, but then again neither are the hotel/hostel beds in Egypt. So I take as many overnighters as I can to save on cash whenever I travel.
I have been doing some reading up on Siwa (the far Western oasis I plan to go to) and am excited to get out and see some new terrain. So hopefully I'll have some new and exciting tales to tell that don't include Dahab which I am sure everyone is sick of hearing about! This is the home stretch...just about 10 days until I am back on American soil...
