Well, I'm back home in CA! It's all been a bit overwhelming, but today is already better than yesterday. It was really very hard to leave Honduras yesterday. Plus, to make it worse, I happened to be on the flight of 50 missionaries from Tennessee. Nothing against missionaries, but I have had bad experiences with them. First, they are all over Honduras. Second, I apparently must look like I need to be "saved" because they always target me and start trying to give me bibles and convert me. It's just really annoying. So they made the check-in process just horrible as the airport in
Tegus is tiny and there just wasn't enough room for everyone.

The other really weird thing that happened to me is that once I landed in Miami, I was finding that I was really annoyed with all Americans. Granted, I worked daily with Americans at the Embassy, so this may sound strange. But in actuality, the Embassy was only 20% American and the rest Hondurans. I was just noticing that now I do understand why Americans are said to be some of the rudest tourists in the world. They were just really loud and pushy and ok--let me stop there because I don't want to bag on my fellow
Americans too badly. And this may sound crazy, but I was having a hard time NOT speaking Spanish! I'm already having Spanish withdrawls and miss the sounds and sights of the place I've called home for the past 4 months.

That said, I am excited to be moving on to my next big adventure in life! I'll be aggressively seeking an apartment back East and just getting ready in general for a cross-country move. Alright, I've got lots to do. I'm up in San Francisco with my lovely friends Julie and Dani who welcomed me home wonderfully. I've got to get
myself down to San Jose on the train tonight and get myself "settled". Hmmm, a bit of an oxymoron.
