John and I spent the day hunting for aliens in Roswell. The search began in the visitors center where I met another transient soul who had just moved to Roswell from MI solely for the purpose of checking out another area. She gave us lots of suggestions of places to check out both UFO and non UFO related. The cool thing is that most everything is free here.
We then went to an art museum which also had some cultural exhibits as well as a replica of Goddard's workshop. Goddard was the first person to create a successful liquid propelled rocket. This was a really neat exhibit.
Next we stopped into the UFO museum and were amazed at the amount of documentation and affidavits. They were also screening long documentaries and had models portraying the happenings. Our interest waned and turned toward lunch after 30ish minutes.
Lunch was at a local winery where we did some tastings and had a great antipasta plate. We also picked up a few local bottles of wine for the road.

Next came the free zoo. This was part of a park yet had a variety of donated animals including bobcats, cougars, bald eagles, and cool turtle (which John pissed off). We probably spent. The longest time here and just relaxed for a bit of time.
Late afternoon saw the departure of Roswell as we started our trek to Gila National Forest to see some cliff dwellings.
