Tearful Goodbyes and onto Madrid

I was given a wonderful send off from Coniston with friends and family enjoying a ´few´drinks, sandwiches and a lovely cake courtesy of Bev and Peter at The Yewdale Hotel in Coniston. The next morning, the day had finally come and good byes had to be said which I found very difficult, quite a few tears were shed. I managed to compose myself in time for the Bucks Fizz and Bacon Butty send off at the Yewdale at 10.30am. I made sure that I enjoyed my last Strongbow Cider and introduced everyone to Mr Tingle (a gift from my friend Gina, rescued from a charity shop she thought it was only fitting that he was treated to a world adventure, so he should pop up along the way in photos!)
Mum and Dad took me to the airport and then off to Madrid - well after being taken off the first plane, enjoying a short delay (at least another chance to have a quick Strongbow!)
I arrived in Madrid and was picked up by my friend Hayleys husband Paul, back to their apartment for a few beers whilst catching up on the ´Good Old Days´. A good nights sleep, hot shower in the morning (Last hot one I fear for a while!) and off to the airport. More thumbnails ...

hi tracey (reply) Oct 7, 2005 17:46 EST by kevo
Glad to see you are enjoying yourself but am concerned that you appear to be unsure of your current whereabouts. from the description of the terrain (allowing for global warming) it sounds like you may be in the falkland islands. just keep heading south and you will hit port stanley,(thouroughly bloody nice chaps i'm told), and they will put you back on track. Keep the info coming and i will send ... show all
