A quiet Monday evening seeing to our Badminton aches & pains!!

Tuesday evening we went for a walk locally, Seasons Park where we live is a compound with about 15 blocks split into 2 areas. Mostly Chinese people but a lot of ex pats too, and some of our side is a apart-hotel as well. Over the other side, they have a restaurant, coffee bar and in the basement a gym, boxing area, table tennis, badminton & squash courts and a swimming pool. There is also an outdoor pool as well but it's only filled in the summer, and is just about to open by the looks of it. Also found a spa & a hairdressers. It's mainly families over that side, so it's busier. The gym etc. is expensive per month which most of them seem to be, but not bad to pay as you go so we'll definitely make use of it. My morning run has been ok, but not enough & I always favour 30 mins extra in bed!!

So if anyone comes to stay, there is room for 1 here on the sofa, a choice of staying in an apartment in our block, or the Holiday Inn Dongzhimen 3 mins walk away, or the Home Inn (budget) 5 mins the other direction. For those who like the finer things in life (we're thinking Neil & Alan!!!), we'd recommend The Opposite House Hotel, looks fantastic - and that's about a 20 min walk away. Welcome any time!!

After that we went to the Yashou market near us, a quieter market with less hassle than the Silk Market as Andy wanted to get some trousers, some good haggling & he walked away with 2 pairs, had to take them back tonight as they weren't quite the right size, but they changed them no problem at all which was good.

An early night Tue for Andy (8pm) to get a few hours sleep before going to Paddy's to watch the football!! It was on again at 2.45am..... zzzzzz.... there is no way I could have done that even though I really wanted to watch it!! A fab result which means another middle of the night wake up call Sun / Mon!!

Work has been good today, learnt some new stuff with Ray & he thinks we're ready now for first appointments, just a bit of product knowledge to learn then we can get out there, scary!! Yesterday felt that we hadn't got so far in the last 10 days or so, but today it's all come together again.

Been to the Bookworm tonight, a library about 20 mins walk from here - they hold regular talks, have meetings, wine tasting etc. & locals & ex pats hang out there using the wi-fi and researching stuff. Very chilled, cool that you can read over a glass of wine, and the food also looked good. We went to a talk called 'Beijing Postcards' tonight, which was about maps over the years, which was interesting, apart from the end where people were trying to out do each other by asking smart questions so we dissappeared!!

We've paid for a Skype telephone number which you can ring from any phone as if you're paying for a local call. If we're not logged in you can leave a message which we'll get when we log in. Stephen tried it today & it worked really well. Our number is 02392160779, cool hey?!!! So ring us!!!

Well, we have had 1380 views on our blog this month which is amazing, but who is out there reading them??????? As before, please say hello & comment at the bottom! We're loving hearing from you.

Hiya lovely people,
You seem to be getting really involved with life out there. I never cease to be impressed with your ability to find such a wide variety of events going on - and along you go and meet lovely, interesting people - have a great time and learn new stuff along the way. It's very inspiring.
Unlike life here which, as always, bowls along at the pace of a tortoise with an injury! Perhaps I should take up salsa, or netball?!! Anyhow, as I said nothing new to report but just wanted to stop by and say 'Hi' and 'glad you're having such a good time' and when I've got around to downloading Skype I will certainly give you a 'call'.
Much love
