Well our apartment was painted yesterday and now looks lovely so this is just a quick blog to post some photo's of the apartment and 2 photos from the 26th Floor at night. And yes I (Pez) went upto the 26th floor and stood at the edge. I think the beer made me brave lol

Hiya Mr and Mrs Perry!
So sorry I have written for a while - despite being on half-term, it's not been a 'holiday' and I've actually been quite busy.
Loved the photos of you with the beer - that would've filled me up, and some! And your apartment looks very 'swish', very 'you' and VERY tidy!! I'm also delighted to hear you things are going well with the work - it sounds as if they are very organised and professional, which must be a huge weight off your shoulders. How are you adapting to the temperatures out there? A bit warm is it??!
It isn't here! Just a quick (and inevitable!) moan about the weather here - it's disgusting, cold, horrible, constantly raining and, yes, I've put the heating back on - IN JUNE!
Well, my personal news is that I've applied for a new job - Pastoral Support Worker at Brookfield Community School. Essentially it's Pupil Welfare - working with kids who have emotional/behavioural difficulties. It's still term time, but 37 hours and week and MUCH better pay than I'm on now. I am really hopeful as it's something I've always wanted to do so am really hoping it comes off - we'll see.
Other news: nothing of any particular note really! We had a lovely day with my parents yesterday having a pub lunch (roast lamb - yum!) in the Forest. Kids went back to school today but I had an 'training day' so met up with my LSA colleagues for breakfast - why is it ALWAYS about food?!
Jack went up to Wembley for the Capital Summertime Ball on Saturday - I had to pick him up from Southampton at 1.30 am - the first but I'm sure not the last time! Had a shock whilst we were waiting for him and his mates to get their (again, inevitable) McDonalds - two girls, in full view in the car park, skirts up, knickers down and pee'd on the floor! Now, I'm an Essex girl but even I thoguht this was outrageous ... I bet no-one in China would do THAT sort of thing.
Anyhow, I gotta go and pick up Jack from school - had his Maths GCSE today!
Will speak soon,
Keep posting - it's great to keep up with your adventures.
Much love

Lorraine - Adapting to the temperatures ok, took a while – it is hot & clear at the moment, not so smoggy so that’s always a bit more comfortable. It does get quite humid some days. We’re in a nice air con office most of the time and only a 10 min walk to & from work.
Everyone is saying how awful the weather is back home, sounds terrible…… you poor things ;)
Fantastic news about the new job prospect, sounds great – fingers crossed that you get it, sounds right up your street and I remember you saying before that’s something you’d like to do.
Glad you talk about food a lot, and that it’s not just us that’s obsessed with it!
Laughed at the peeing in the car park – the young children seem to do it anywhere here, particularly the very young who don’t seem to wear nappies, just holes in the back of their clothes & they just seem to go anywhere, one young girl in the KFC loos who just couldn’t wait so let go on the floor!!! She must have been about 6 or 7!! So they do do that here!!
Keep us posted about the job xx
Lou W – hmmm you’re right, just been to a slightly late jubilee coffee morning so should have nicked some bunting from there!! Must source some ‘print’ though & get ‘printed up’!!!
Ann – thank you for your message, it’s nice to know who’s out there reading the blog!!

Lovely to see the pics of the apartment at last, looks really lovely! Great views too! Impressed that there's so many shops nearby too, has Primarni made it over there yet?!

Had a fairly quiet weekend - had to be sensible coz of the treatment but nearly killed me staying in Fri and Sat night! But needed it after the birthday celebrations too. Made up for it on Sunday though - breakfast with Layona at Lou Lou's, coffee with Niamh in Costa and lunch with Kate at the Belle Isle, was worn out!

Sounds like you're doing well with both the socialising and the drinking! As if we would expect anything else ;o) How is work coming along?

I went to the gym tonight for the first time in aaaaaages. Did 3 classes, in at the deep end!! The first one was a body combat sort of thing, now I see why you like it Trace, was wicked! Going to be aching tomorrow....

Lotsa love xxxxx
