Hiya all,

Hope you're all enjoying the nice long weekend, heard the weather isn't that great, if it's any consolation it's 4pm here on a Sunday afternoon & it's just brightening up after a big storm & heavy rain, it got so dark for a while it was like we'd been plunged straight into night time!!

We survived Ikea, interesting....! The locals treat it as a day out as many live in such small apartments, that they kind of camp out & relax in the chairs, on the beds etc. for many an hour with their own food & flasks! We got there as the doors opened & got ahead of the crowds, not even daring to stop for breakfast!! It worked, the market place was relatively empty & we filled up a trolley very quickly (sis, for the first time ever - NO tealights & NO napkins purchased!). Feeling happy, after the checkout, we had one of their disgusting hot dogs which actually hit the spot!! Taxi rank outside, loaded up his car & off we went, back home by 11am. It was only about 3 each way in a cab & around 10 mins drive away. Essentials purchased, Tracy wanting a return visit soon to 'girlify' the apartment!

Next trip was for an iron & ironing board (some of you will know how important that is to Andy - when he stayed with Lou & I he used it more than us 2 put together for 2 years ;)

Pit stop in Hooters (I'll let Andy describe that experience at the end.....!!). Whilst in there, read an e-mail from Lou & got a bit teary, what a soppy cow I am!!
Missing out on her Birthday celebrations :(

Lots of cleaning, unpacking & settling in, we felt really happy. So, a well deserved beer & food in the Den bar & restaurant, cool hey Dad?! The night before we met a really nice guy called Alistair, so we met with him again & hit a few bars. Really love it here, it is very sociable & very liveable. And we've only explored such a small part so far, lots more to come as well as the sightseeing - all in good time.

Today, more electrical things, a DVD player - DVD's cheap as chips, 1 for DVD & 75p for a CD, our TV only has 1 English speaking channel so that will be our entertainment. Also got an air humidifier, as I'm struggling with a cough & sore throat with the heat, pollution & air con, I think I'm driving Andy mad!

No internet yet in the apartment, week after next hopefully however most bars have free wi-fi (and yes, that's where we are now!). No photo's of the apartment yet as it resembles a Chinese laundry at the mo, catching up on all our washing! Supermarket next, as finally we can make some food.

Mad moment, just seen a lady walk by with a small white poodle with pink dyed ears and little red boots..... hmmm..... sadly the silly little dog culture is quite big here but that was a shock!!

Back to work for us two tomorrow, unlike you guys!!!

Missing Facebook & loving your comments on here, Lorraine especially :)
There are hundreds of views on here, so please put some comments & say hi, we know you're reading them!! Will reply to personal e-mails soon too.

Anyway, bye for now from me xx

Hi all,

The beer is good here and I've been converted to a lager drinker to my better judgement. The reason being its so much cheaper than Guinness infact its half price. Forever the Northerner lol

Took Tracy to Hooters yesterday for lunch which was great. Took me awhile to put my eyes back in lol. Tracy has now banned us from going there. I really don't understand why as the ladies were very friendly and lovely looking in their short shorts and tight tops. They weren't the biggest Hooters I've seen or anywhere near as good as Tracy's. But, Boy's when you come over I'll take you there with or without Tracy.

Right best get off before I get slapped again.

As Tracy said earlier please post some comments or just say hi as its really nice to see who's been on and to hear what your doing xx

Hi glad to hear you have finally moves into your apartment, will be great to see some photos, it sounds as though you are on permanent holiday at the moment, may long it last. So strange hearing from you yesterday, don't know why, but was great, we had a big procession through the village for the Jubilee which was great and the sun was shining, big picnic today on the green. Hope work goes well next week, will be thinking of you, lots of love T

Hi Guys - Glad to see all is going well and meeting your expectations ! Busy weekend here as preparing for the Euro's ...set off next Saturday and still don't have accomodation sorted as prices are outrageous ! Will probably end up on a campng site with some posh tent they refer to as a pavillion - but then thats the fun of the trip !

No footy news from PFC to report but think things should start moving in next week or so as players return from hols.

Will continue to watch blog with interest ...and keep out of Hooters !!

Loving reading all your updates... Facebook is defo much quieter without all your postss Tracy!! Sounds like you've been super busy sorting out your new lives - fun but exhausting. I have spent today feeling very hungover having gone to a wedding reception last night for a work colleague. We're having a big family jubilee celebration at my mum and dads tomorrow (Monday) which I am most looking forward to - more good food and booze. Tons of love to you both and so glad things are great xxxx

Hi glad you're enjoying it out in Beijing, sounds like there's plenty of bars and good eateries ! Hope your new pad is coming along now, that's good you've got somewhere at last. We had a great day out yesterday for Lou's birthday and the weather wasn't too bad, just a bit windy ! We missed you loads. We're looking forward to having two more days off as we've lots to do. love Mum x

"..........or anywhere near as good as Tracy's" - I think you MAY have just about redeemed yourself there young Andrew - nice work!
Jubilee fever is reaching fever (!) pitch here - you'd be hard-pressed to get hold of a decent length of bunting anywhere! Of course, as expected, the British weather is not letting us down - grey skies and 'colder than average for this time of year' - no surprise. Today Ellen and I have baked a traditional victoria sponge and are going to turn it into some kind of union jack design after our roast chicken dinner - how patriotic are we?! I'll post a photo later. Hope you're having a good evening - probably alcohol-fuelled if you continue along the lines of most of your posts!
Take care & speak soon,
Much Love

Hiya, i am finding your updates really interesting and it sounds like you are finding your feet really quickly. I hope your actual jobs work out well so you can continue enjoying your adventure. I went out with work down Albert Road on Friday night and thought about the first time i met Andy with you down there :).
I have had the bunting up since Thursday but i am just about the only one in our road, boring lot! Watched the Royal Barge pagaent on the tv for a while and the weather looked horrendous in London but we actually had lots of sun today which was lucky as lots of people had street or garden parties. we are off to a big organised one tomorrow evening including an Abba tribute band. I have already painted my nails red, white and blue but think i shall be covering up my red, white and blue maxi dess with a sweatshirt or 2!! Looking forward to watching Engerland in the Euros starting at the end of next week. The shops have gone completely Union Jack and St. George's cross mad this year you can even buy a union jack kitchen pedal bin! You'd love it Tracy. Take care and hope work goes well Monday. Nita xx

wow, so it is true, you can find and Ikea store any where! Will be such a good feeling to have you own place with your own belongings in it too. Happy cooking Trace or is that Andy's job? Grey and cold here this morning but hope it brightens up for our little villages party on the green this evening, hog roast, live music, beacon etc. We were out in Albert Road last night at the Kings Theatre and felt really weird knowing you two weren't in the area! :-( Is this where you girls went to see burlesque. Dont ask , please, who we went to see, I will only divulge that this person came from Notty Ash and there were NO diddy men, thank god! (and it was all Ians idea) So enjoy keeping in touch with you guys, keep it up! lotsa love xxx

Sal on

PS we couldnt get bunting for love or money and the balloons we put up on the porch kept popping in the wind, uncannily we were left with one blue, red and white one..only! x

Well finally 5 minutes to drop you both a little note.......loving hearing about your adventures - fab posts and what a great experience you are having! Reminds me a little of when I moved out to SIngapore. Very busy here with both girls birthdays....they both had an 'official' birthday and then parties....great fun but so exhausting. So lovely to have such a long weekend just hope the weather picks up as we have got 24 camping here soon...almost a mini festival in our garden. Anyway enjoy your new home. Lots and lots of love xx
