After writing yesterday, we had a fantastic evening at the Capital Club where Ray from work is on the board of directors for the club and is the Chairman of the food & wine comittee, so he took us there as his guests - really tall building with the restaurant & bar on the 80th floor. Very much a 'high end' networking place, met lots of Ray's friends, some from embassies, lawyers etc. Amazing views over the city which was good to get our bearings, and watch the sunset. 2 very nice glasses of wine later we went into the restaurant & had an amazing meal, very posh, very expensive & Ray's welcome treat which was lovely of him. We've both really taken to him & found that we all chatted as friends & felt really relaxed, and he seems to really like us & thinks we make a good team already. He even said in a year or two he could see us as members of the club & really getting on well - big smiles!

Today we've taken a long stroll down to the famous Silk Street Market, 7 floors of chaos basically!! Electronics, handbags, clothes, shoes, tailoring, fabric, anything you can think of really!! Andy did well haggling for a work bag he needed - I was impressed & may get him to haggle for me in the future!! It took us about an hour & 15 mins to walk there passing various things along the way, very trendy shopping centres, the Workers football stadium which could become our next Fratton Park!!! It's really hot & sunny again today but it's a dry heat, not humid & not too opressive.

Off out to forage for food - in fact no, we'll never have to forage, there is food everywhere!! It will be nice though when we have our own place & can cook for ourselves, it's fairly cheap to eat out - although it can vary depends on where you are. For lunch we got a subway style roll made up at the local supermarket deli counter, 2 of those & 2 bottles of water for 2.80 which is fab.

After walking lots today, we've realised that we're in a really lovely area at the moment, quiet in comparrison & not so chaotic.

Hope you're all having a good weekend - just got a text from Mum saying it was 28 degrees, wow, enjoy!

Hey guys! It all sounds very exciting!! Like the sound of the bar/restaurant on the 80th floor, hope you had cocktails!! Have you started work yet? It's been another really hot day today, but with a nice warm breeze, I think summer has finally arrived. Anyway look forward to hearing about your ongoing adventures!

Hiya you two really seem to be getting to grips with this place already. Sounding very positive . Tracy you are good at this blog stuff, with pictures too, loving hearing all about your days, guess will be more difficult when you start work though. Is it this Monday you start? Hows the jet-lag, if any! xx

Sounds like you are settling in really well - the place looks amazing - not like I imagined Bejing at all! It is really hot and sunny here today so everyone is out and about enjoying a lazy weekend :o) I've been busy getting ready for the inaugural Cupcake Magic Cake Decorating party this Wednesday - not as high-flying as you, but it's enough for me! Take care of each other and play nicely with the other kids at 'work' tomorrow!
Much love
