We had to drag ourselves up & about yesterday evening otherwise we wouldn't have slept last night!
Found ourselves in the main drag, having pizza, burrito & beer. Would you believe, it's not proving that easy to have a Chinese as it's so multicultural!

Went for a drink in another bar full of foreigners & a few Chinese people, if we weren't so shattered & spaced out we think it would have been easy to chat to people & make friends, it all seemed really sociable. So sociable in fact Andy managed to pull & get chatted up by a guy on his first night!! Gus the barman, who was oh so friendly, we were chatting about having just arrived, he said he could help us find our was around & he knew Western culture as his boyfriend was American, and he was free on Sunday - he was chatting to us both but did seem to take a shine to Andy..........

A wander along the street full of bars, Andy took a wide berth by the pole dancing bar?!?!?! His answer...... didn't want to get into trouble on his first night!!

Home, bed, 4am agony for Andy as his back had gone into spasm again - not good. However, it was a good excuse for a massage this afternoon, fab spa next to the office, 75 min treatment for approx 15, sorted Andy's back out & I had a fab foot, back & neck massage.

Met Joy one of the office girls this morning to go & look at apartments, our boss is paying for the first 3 months accommodation & short lets are difficult to come by, so ended up seeing a few studio apartments. One of them was in a fab complex, modern, pool, gym etc. and the other 2 in a hotel, it's quite different here, lots of the hotels & compounds are multi use for offices, apartments, short lets. We're exploring the option of going for a longer let with us taking the lease after the first 3 months to widen our options. We will look more next week.

Just back from lunch, and getting ready to go to our first networking event at the Capital Club with Ray - looking forward to it. And Danielle, if you're reading this - your fab 'picture & point' book has come in very handy in getting us an iron!!

PS. Myth buster no. 1 - they don't all eat cats & dogs
Myth buster no. 2 - they don't all pee into holes in the ground    ;)

Just thought I would let you know I think you are being held solely responsible for the sudden dip in Facebooks share value!!! It can't have just been a coincidence! Good luck with your adventures

Myth or not ... Chinese people think cheese is disgusting and you'll be hard-pressed to find any in the whole of the land! Let us know!

Sounds like you are already well into your adventure - very much looking forward to the next installment.

Much love

Sounds amazing. Cant believe it was only a 10 hour flight! Happy flat hunting, exciting. Good to know you are both settling in already.
