Palm Springs has a similar feel (on a much smaller and less flashy scale) to Vegas. It's party at night, sleep late and lie by the pool all day. Not a bad way to live. So this morning I tried to sleep late but failed. I have crossed so many time zones and daylight savings has just ended, I have no idea what time it is or what day it is anymore, but I must be ahead of myself as I keep waking up at the crack of dawn. Never mind, gives me more time by the pool, at least I've got that bit right.

But I eventually had to pack the bathers away, check out and move on today to LA.

As I left Palm Springs I saw the biggest wind farm I've ever seen, hundreds of wind turbines in a row. Awesome! But then a few minutes later not so awesome as the car was nearly lifted off the road and I had to hang on for dear life just to stay on the ground. I know now why they picked this spot for a wind farm. Heavens to mergatroid! What a breeze!

The wind tunnel goes on for miles along the freeway, and I wasn't the only one trying to keep on the ground. The hundreds of trucks speeding and weaving along the freeway were too. Terrifying! At one stage I somehow ended up sandwiched between three of them, how on earth did that happen?

And here I was thinking the LA traffic was going to be the adversity I had to overcome today, it was a walk in the park compared to the windy miles leaving Palm Springs.

I'm in LA tonight is because my lovely Marmie is joining me tomorrow for the rest of my trip. It's going to be a mother/daughter road trip around California for the next 10 days, great she can drive from here on. Just kidding. I'm really excited she's coming and looking forward to sharing the adventure with her. We're planning on hitting the coast road and heading for San Francisco, and after that who knows, but I'll keep you all posted. She's a real shop-a-holic so I'll definately be in for some retail therapy :)

PS no pics today as there was no way I was getting off and on those freeways just for a photo op!
