We headed to Atlanta airport today, our final stop.
It was a wonderful tour and I thank all the fantastic new friends I made for making it so great. Thanks to J&L, V&T, S&S, M&S, K&A, J&L, H&B, D&L and P&P for the friendship and the kindness, it was fabulous company and I feel really lucky had the good fortune to share this time with each and every one of you.
I got J&L to myself a little longer as we shared a flight to Denver together. After the scary security of the trip over it was nice to have the company of locals who pay it little or no attention. Thanks ladies.
As to what I saw today, not much. I saw more of North Carolina and bits of Georgia through the bus windows, but no real stops except for coffee breaks. Then I saw the inside of airports and airplanes. I had to fly to Denver and then on to Albuquerque. The Denver flight was about 3 hours long, the Albuquerque flight was only an hour, but there was a lay over of 2 hours between the two flights, or so I thought. Turned out there was a delay and my connecting flight ran 3 hours late, giving me a nice long 5 hour lay over. Boy oh boy what a long day. We left the hotel in North Carolina at 8am and it was midnight before I got to my hotel in Albuquerque. To think I decided to fly because driving would take too long. I t have covered some good distance in that same time by car.
Still here's the bonuses. I got time to finish my book (again thanks Laz it was great), I made friends with another lady on the same delayed flight, my luggage turned up when I did and didn't get lost along the way, the rental car was exactly where I left it and in the same condition, and the luggage I stored with the hotel was also still there and in the same condition it was when I left it. So despite it being a super long delay, so many other things could have gone wrong and didn't, therefore I have nothing to complain about, I am, after all, still on holidays ;)
PS no pics today, the airport, whilst very big, was just not that interesting.
