After leaving the pantanal, we had a short drive to Corumba, which was just a stop so we could cross the border into Bolivia and fly from a nearby town to Santa Cruz. It was nice having a quiet night in Corumba ... it was really hot and the hotel had a pool!

Our flight was meant to leave at 9.20am, but it seems flight times arent set in stone here, and the flight left at 11.30 instead. I was a bit worried that the flight would be dodgy, but we were on the happiest plane in the world ... it had a hat and big smile!!! Actually, the flight was pretty good, it was clean and the hostesses were hot (obviously more important to Chrisso than me!)

We only stopped in Santa Cruz for the night so we could get a flight the next day to Sucre. Its a pretty city, very new! We wandered around and found a chocolate fair, as well as a mariachi band playing in the doorway of a pharmacy. Very odd, we thought, until we learnt that a young man had just proposed to his lady at her place of work ... mariachi bands and plenty of confetti are they way they do it over here!

The other odd thing we found here in Santa Cruz is that at some petrol stations, they employ very good looking ladies who they dress in not very much to fill up peoples cars with petrol. The one we stopped in had cars lined up to get in, but the servo down the road was empty!!!

So then it was off to Sucre ...
