Show trip route
I was already excited to travel to "Detroit" because I knew I was going to get to see Anne, my friend from grad school who I haven't seen since we both graduated. Then it just kept getting better and better. She managed to score us tickets to see her boyfriend's new show... and not just any show my friends... Evil Dead: The Musical!!!! I was so excited. We grabbed a quick dinner and caught up at this adorable Italian place called Como's in Ferndale. It was so cute (and very me) overly decorated with Halloween regalia and white Christmas lights. Yet it wasn't tacky like a T.G.I.Friday's instead it was quaint and fun. And my food was amazing and served in HUGE portions. I couldn't finish my steak, green beans, and potatoes.
Then, it was Evil Dead time!! The show was hilarious. Plus, it was industry night, so the audience was filled with theatre folks... which always makes for an even more fun time! There were signs all over the place warning about the amount of blood and how it was very likely you would get sprayed. Much like the splash zones in SeaWorld. They sold ponchos at the door, or you could provide your own covering. Anne, of course, had already seen the show, and knew where to sit us so we wouldn't get sprayed. The lady in front of me was hilarious, she cut a hole in a regular Kroger plastic bag, and put it over her head. She had to have the tiniest shoulders ever for that to work. :)
The show was an absolute blast, Mitch was great, and I laughed so hard. It was exactly the break I needed.
We then went next door with some of the cast to get a couple drinks and chat. It was a great night. Everyone I met was so nice, friendly, and funny. Thank you for a lovely night!
On to Kalamazoo... which if nothing else provides much joy in saying its name :)
