I woke up at 4:45 a.m. yesterday to catch the 6 a.m. train to El-Jem. It was a 3 hour ride and when I got there, I spent about 3 hours walking around the amphitheatre and the museum. It was very nice. I ended up waiting about 2 hours for the train back.
Today, I took the train to Sida Bou Said and I must say that it's very beautiful. The view of the ocean is spectacular and the town and houses are so picturesque. I love the white houses and blue painted iron fencing and blue doors and windows. My camera ran out of batteries so I couldn't take many pictures, so I think I'll head back tomorrow since I don't have anything else planned.
There doesn't seem to be much to do in Tunis in the evenings so I've been reading some books. I read the "Horse Whisperer" from Nicholas Evans and I'm reading "Jazz" from Toni Morrison right now. Entertaining...
I confirmed my Tunis Air tickets this morning. Very quick and simple. Easier than figuring out the phone and message tree on the Tunis Air phone numbers.
